Models Own : My Favourite Picks!

Models Own Collection

Finally Models Own has launched in Australia! Can you imagine my excitement when I was invited to the Australian launch last week to preview the entire range. I was even more thrilled to receive the most amazing press package with a selection of the products to try for myself. To be honest I really didn't know what to expect with Models Own; I've heard previously about the British brand but have yet to try the products. Guys.... I like so many products from this line!

Anyway, lets talk more about the products. 'Models Own is a brand which known for its bold and fun take on makeup and nail polish'. This collection features an explosion of colour and innovation with a wide selection of lip, eye and face products. I agree with its marketing pitch! I'm pleasantly surprised with the innovation, textures and how modern this brand is. You can find the boldest lips shades to the brightens eye shadows but if you are more into natural makeup like me, whist it is marketed at a slightly younger audience there are still beautiful shades and products for everyone.

Barely There- Eyeshadow Palette| $29.95
This is one of the more pricey products from this range but I still enjoy this palette and can justify the price. Bronze eyeshadow is probably my favourite shade because its flattering, is more natural than black eyeshadow and fool-proof. The 'Barley There' palette is perhaps the most neutral out of the all Models Own palettes with a great selection of 10 matte and shimmers shades.

Matte Liquid Lipstick - In Naked and Raspberry Mojito| $14.95
I like matte lipstick and I love Raspberry Mojito's. As much as I like wearing matte liquid lipsticks sometimes it tends to dry out my lips and not look very flattering. Lets face it... lips that are dehydrated and flaking are never a good look! This one is slightly more moisturising due to its smooth mouse formula which glides on smoothly. The scent of these is minty and fresh, which is a big and quite pleasant change from most of the sweet scented liquid lipstick that are on the market today. The staying power is awesome too, it lasts hours and is transfer resistant!

Sculpt & Glow Shimmer Bronzing Powder- Deep Golden Brown | $16.95
Is it just me or are bronzers with shimmer on the comeback? The 'Sculpt & Glow' Shimmer Bronzing Powder is marketed as a 'matte contouring bronzing powder' but I probably would stick to a matte bronzer for contour and use this to enhance and bronze your skin as this does have shimmer in it. I have the deepest shade which has rose gold specks, it's actually quick unique and gives me the most amazing radiant glow. The shimmer is finely milled so there isn't any obviously chunks of glitter and the shade looks gorgeous as an eyeshadow and on cheeks.

Sculpt & Glow Highlighter Palette| $24.95
Where has this been all my life? I have been on the look out for this kind of product for the longest time! Sorry it can be a little hard to control my excitement when you find a product at the drugstore this beautiful. There isn't much I don't like about it, even the packaging is compact, with a huge mirror. This glow palette has three shimmer colours, one cream highlight, a golden powder highlighter and a bronzer with shimmer. I personally wouldn't use this palette to contour because the bronzer has shimmer in it but I will use this to warm up my complexion.

All-in-all Models Own cosmetics is a really exciting brand with so many great quality products to choose from.  I am looking forward to testing out some of the other more ' bold' products from the range.
